Making Websites
I have been making websites left and right lately. I’ll name them off by deployment.
The first one I have released is That Smoke Pit Veteran which is a Newsletter catered to U.S. Military Veterans and Active Duty servicemembers. There are times when I miss my time in the Marine Corps, and as of right now, this is the closest thing I have today. I can make another post at a later time about my time in the Marine Corps and my surgery. But until then, check out my Newsletter! It’s powered by Ghost and hosted via Magic Pages!
The next website I’ve deployed is for a car meet organization called The Lockdown. I was pretty active with the Car Scene back then, and wanted to give back to the community a little bit. You may notice that there are some similarities between that site and the one you’re looking at right now! Yup! They are both running Astro.JS! If you’re in Havelock, North Carolina, and want to see some cool cars, check that website periodically! You may be able to attend one in the future!
Now, I have been pretty distasteful towards Reddit in the last couple of years. As an early adopter of the platform, I don’t think the direction Reddit has gone is agreeable. I can rant on and on about this, but the tipping point for me was the fact that a lot of the posts in the Federal Employee subreddits were managed to a strong bias. It seemed like we were divided. Now I understand that there will always be discourse between the Right and the Left, but I felt like the Moderators were pushing a particular agenda - an agenda that if you are Right, you are Wrong! Screw that! If you have been wronged by Reddit, check out the Daily Fed Chat! It’s a forum powered by the mighty Discourse software and managed in a Cloud VPS!
And finally, the one you’re looking at! This is probably my most Half-A..ed attempt for a website.
